Myles Frost

MJ

Myles is the winner of the 2022 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance in MJ. He made history, becoming the youngest solo actor to ever win the award. He is a nominee for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards Best Musical Theater Album as principal vocalist for MJ’s cast album. Myles is also a winner of the 76th Annual Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut Performance during the 2021-2022 theatrical season, a winner of the 2022 Chita Rivera Award, a 2022 Drama League Award Nominee, a 2022 Drama Desk Award Nominee, and a 2022 Outer Critics Circle Award Nominee. He is also a recipient of the Next Generation of Heavy Hitters as presented in Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood Impact Report 2022, an honoree for Ebony’s 2022 Power 100 List, and an honoree of The Root.com’s 2022, 100 Most Influential Black Americans, 2022 HBCU Top 30 under 30, Bowie State University Dean’s Excellence Award for Outstanding Student Achievement, and the Senate Resolution by the State of Maryland.

Lynn Nottage

Lynn is the first woman in history to win two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama. Her plays have been produced widely in the United States and throughout the world. Christopher Wheeldon

Director & Choreographer

Christopher trained at The Royal Ballet School, joined the New York City Ballet in 1993 and was named first Resident Choreographer. Christopher has created productions for The Royal Ballet and major ballet companies worldwide. He has choreographed for opera, film and television and is an Olivier Award winner for his ballets Aeternum and Polyphonia. In 2014, Mr. Wheeldon directed and choreographed the musical version of An American in Paris, which had productions in Paris, New York, and London and has toured extensively through America, China, Japan and Australia. Most recently he directed and choreographed MJ (Broadway, 2022). They each received four Tony Awards earning him two Tony Awards for Best Choreography. The latter is currently on Broadway, touring in America and mounting productions in Hamburg and Sydney. Christopher thanks his husband, Ross Rayburn, for his love, support, and quiet guidance during the making of MJ.

Lia Vollack

Producer

Lia Vollack produced the Olivier Award-winning and seven-time Tony Award-nominated musical Groundhog Day at the Old Vic and then on Broadway when she created Sony’s theatrical producing arm, Columbia Live Stage. Prior to that, she spent more than two decades as President of Worldwide Music at Sony Pictures, and created numerous multi-platinum soundtracks and scores with artists including Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar and Pearl Jam. She currently produces and develops original theatrical productions with her company Lia Vollack Productions, established in 2019. And has since produced MJ and Almost Famous on Broadway. She began her career as a recording engineer in the music industry and worked as a theatre sound designer before transitioning to the film industry.

Vollack currently sits on the Broadway League’s Board of Governors, Broadway League’s International Committee, American Theater Wing’s Advisory Council, and the Recording Academy’s Musical Theater Task Force.

John Branca

Nia Janis is a founding Director of Playful Productions. Her experience as a Producer and General Manager spans the West End, Broadway, collaborations with subsidised houses, UK and international touring. Work as a producer includes Groundhog Day and A Little Life, and a development slate of plays and new musicals. General management includes Wicked; Moulin Rouge! The Musical; and Come From Away. Her directorial work includes touring productions such as Must Be This Gay to Ride performed in Glasgow, London and Canada, and Gate Number 5 which transferred to Greenwich Theatre from the Edinburgh Fringe. She has directed audio plays for English Touring Theatre, Papatango, Home Truths Theatre, and the Army at the Fringe. Rasheka is actively developing new work through collaborations with institutions such as LAMDA and Adrian Grant Productions.
